Whether you are looking to reduce inflammation or shed excess body fat this year, there is no denying that diet plays a major role in our overall health – physical, psychological, etc. Every night, you may or may not have fallen in the habit of ordering mail mates and eating out more than they should be allowed since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out two years ago. Heck, waiting for dinner delivery was the only thing I had to look forward to. But, not only did eating out every night take its toll on my wallet, it also affected my waistline, which led me to do some research to find the best meal delivery services for losing weight and eating healthy.

Honestly, I don’t care much about not wearing my jeans for 2019, but I just feel like it turning off (slow, heavy, and less focused) lately, and I’m almost certain that my current disposition is, at least in part, due to my less-than-stellar diet. That’s exactly why I decided to look at some healthy (but convenient) meal delivery options this year.

Yes, I’d like to sign up for these meal set plans like Hello Fresh that give you new recipes and all the ingredients needed to prepare your meals, but I know that having to set aside a half hour each night for cooking isn’t a sustainable schedule for my life (and my work).

Definitely, order takeaway or takeaway from healthy Restaurants are always a solid option, but if you’re like me and realize that the majority of the money you’ve paid during the pandemic has gone straight to expensive, contactless eateries and takeaway orders on slow days, you can also look to take a step back from relying on these delivery apps to feed you. Fortunately, there are plenty of affordable, healthy, affordable, and truly delicious meal delivery services out there.

Of course, it goes without saying that the meal delivery services listed below may not be quite as budget-friendly as shopping for your groceries and preparing food in your kitchen, but they are very convenient nonetheless.

After all, time is money, am I right? Whether you’re giving a plant-based lifestyle a chance or jumping on the low-carb ketogenic bandwagon, there really is something to fit every diet and budget. Scroll down below to check out some of the best meal delivery services for losing weight and eating healthy below.

Sakara Life Signature Nutrition Program

Of all the meal delivery services I’ve tried, Sakara Life’s vegan-powered meal program is without a doubt my favourite. Skara offers four different options to meet your individual needs, focusing on improving digestion, energy and even improving your skin through nutrition.

Every ready-to-eat meal not only tastes delicious (yes, even if you’re not a vegan) but also improves your energy and fills you up (albeit surprisingly). I’m not going to lie – it’s very expensive – we’re talking about $60 a day, but for me, it was worth it. Some of my favorite dishes include The Beauty Blend Salad, Root Veggie Enchiladas, and Pasta a La Vodka with Turnip ‘Parmesan’.

Territory Foods is great for gluten-free diets

One of my personal favorite prepared food delivery services is Territory food. They offer a wide range of healthy meal options suitable for a variety of diets and food preferences, including Keto, Paleo, Whole Plants, and 360. All meals are made with inflammation-reducing ingredients and are free of dairy, refined sugar, or gluten. All you have to do is open the weekly delivery box for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (or whatever meals you choose to order), pop it in the fridge, and pop it in the microwave before eating.

Plus, the meal delivery service often partners with local restaurants for meals, so there’s always a new rotation of options every week (along with permanent menu items, of course). My favorite is the keto grilled salmon with cauliflower and broccoli. It is very good. Prices range from about $10.95 to $13.95 per serving.

Overnight oats

For those who aren’t into cooking, but are fine with minimal meal prep, Oats Overnight is perfect for you. Perfect for super busy people who are prone to eating on the go, Oats Overnight is designed to be portable (read: basically, drinkable).

My favorite options are caffeinated oats, but you can also choose from a plethora of fun flavors like fruity cereal, peanut butter, crunchy brownie doughnuts, and caffeinated chai latte.

purple carrots

Another vegetarian meal plan on the menu, Purple Carrot offers an ever-changing menu full of fiber and antioxidant-rich dishes that hints at it’s from a five-star restaurant. Plus, if you’re looking for a sustainable, earth-friendly option, look no further.

On average, each serving of purple carrots releases 72 percent less carbon into the atmosphere than the average American meal. Some of my favorite purple carrot dishes include crunchy walnut artichokes and spicy almond butter noodles. On average, a Purple Carrot meal delivery service will set you back about $71 per week.

thorns

As a non-vegetarian, I must admit that I was very impressed with each and every one of the vegetarian and vegan-friendly Thistle meals I’ve tried. Of course, I have to mention that Thistle also offers a selection of fish and meat based meal options for fish owners and carnivores as well.

Unlike other meal delivery services, Thistle allows you to customize your meals and subscription frequency, and you can pause the program at any time — but, really, you probably won’t want to. Some of the favorite dishes from the program include creamy tomato pasta, cauliflower polenta salad, and the Dirty Chai Oatmeal Bowl. They also offer a large selection of fresh and squeezed juices as well. Prices range from about $60 a month or $15 (for meat) per serving.

Fresh

For those who aren’t ready to graduate from the microwave to the stove right now, but also don’t want to consume the copious amounts of sodium and preservatives that frozen meals contain, it’s time to give Freshly’s super convenient (and eco-friendly) meal-delivery service a shot.

Our contributor Daniel Modlin reviewed Freshly for Scouted and had nothing but glowing reviews about it. “As much as I love to cook, sometimes I need a break. Eating out is often my break (and most people), but that also has its drawbacks. And so, instead of having dinner at 7:00, I ended up deciding what I wanted.” at 8:00, and it ends up at 9:00. While I’ve never seen myself as someone who uses a meal set delivery service, I’ve tried this recently, and found out though I never thought I’d ever use it, this Not that I shouldn’t use it.” Prices start at about $12 a meal.
