Dr. Michael Mosley often shares his tips on losing weight with skinny people online as well as on TV. He created The Fast 800 – a diet plan that helps people lose weight fast.
The whole idea of The Fast 800 Diet is to lose weight fast, and Dr. Mosley wants slimmers to know – contrary to popular belief – that this is the most effective way to shed pounds.
The doctor said, “There is a common belief that if you lose weight quickly you will put it on faster.
“But is this true?
In a recent review article titled ‘Myths, Assumptions, and Facts About Obesity’ in the prestigious medical journal, The New England Journal of Medicine, researchers place this claim firmly in the category of ‘myths’.

“There was a very high dropout rate among those on a consistent diet: less than half made it to the end of the 36 weeks.
Most said they gave up because they were frustrated by the slow rate of progress.
By comparison, more than 80 percent of participants in a rapid weight loss program stuck to it.
Then they were followed up for three years. Although both groups put some weight back on, the amounts were similar.”
Dr. Mosley added that Katrina Purcell, the dietitian who led the study, said: “Our results show that achieving a weight loss goal is more likely, and dropouts are lower, if weight is lost rapidly.”
However, the nutritionist cautioned, “Rapid weight loss is not for everyone, and if you decide to lose weight quickly, you need to make sure you get the right balance of nutrients in your diet.”
So how can slimmers start losing weight fast?
According to Dr. Moseley, following the Fast 800 diet is a good place to start.
The diet “gives you all the tools you’ll need to start changing your lifestyle for the better,” he said.
“Once you enter your goals, you will receive meal plans, recipes, shopping lists, and mindful exercises and exercises to help you achieve your goal,” the doctor explained.
“In terms of the types of foods you should look to incorporate into your diet, there’s a good balance of protein, fiber, and healthy fats – which are basically the Mediterranean diet.
“The good news is, whether or not you incorporate intermittent fasting, the low-carb Mediterranean diet has the unique power of not only restoring your body’s ability to reach its ideal weight and stay there, but also to reduce your risk of serious disease.
“It doesn’t come from a restricted place. It’s about eating more of the right foods.”
Dr. Mosley added, “Not only will these foods keep you feeling full, but they also provide important nutrients, health benefits and taste delicious.”
